Wooohooo...What an absolutely perect session!!. After kite-mountainboarding
this morning, I sat around the beach waiting for the wind that I was sure
would come. Stevebus and Anne were there, so I had a cup of tea with them
in their bus and by about 2pm the wind had filled in so I rigged my 6.3m
and my Fanatic Cross.
As soon as I was on the water, I was perfectly powered up and blasting
across the green waters under a bright blue skiy.. Perfect. The waves
weren't anything special but I did make a few jumps. It was just gorgeous
cruising weather. Stevebus was out on a big board and 7m sail and
overpowered at times. We did sail along really close on a few occasions and
sailed all the way into Borth together too. The wind was ridiculously
constant, not a gust or lull in it. I did gradually pick up though and I
could have got away with my 5.7m sail really, but as it was such a
consistent wind and the water wasn't too rough, the 6.3 was perfectly
acceptable.
I then sailed right out to the Aberdovey Bar bouy and beyond so that I was
level with the big hotel between Aberdovey and Tywyn, and then from there
went on a massive flat out blast all the way to Borth, about 5 miles in
total on one run just off the wind!!... Mad.
Anna and her mum came over to the beach for a bit so I came in to see them.
Stevebus packed up to go home and I went back out for a few more runs. I
eventually got off the water at around 6.30pm completely stoked!!
The only downside was that the deck of my board has delaminated badly in
between the straps. I don't know what to do about that yet.
